Once mortal kings and lords seduced by Rings of Power, their physical forms wasted away over centuries until only invisible spirits remained, bound irrevocably to the Dark Lord's will. They move through Middle-earth not merely as hunters of the One Ring, but as living shadows; their approach brings a chill that numbs the blood, and their presence can shatter the resolve of even the stoutest heart before a blade is ever drawn.

Lore & Background
Commanded by the Witch-king of Angmar, who founded that evil kingdom specifically to destroy Arnor rather than being a former King of it, they serve as Sauron’s chief lieutenants. The Witch-king established the realm of Angmar to crush the North before returning to lead Sauron’s armies in the War of the Ring. Though their wraith-forms render them immune to ordinary steel, they can be struck by blades imbued with ancient magic or Elvish craft. They thrive in shadow and gloom, their power waning under direct sunlight.
